Dr David Thompson
David Thompson was formerly a career detective,
and served in the Merseyside Police for 30 years. He was
a detective on area, in the Regional Crime Squad and Criminal
Intelligence. He was the head of the Merseyside Police Fraud
Squad, in charge of the Liverpool City Centre CID and commanded
a Territorial Division. He retired with the rank of Chief
Superintendent.
David holds a PhD in Psychology, a Master
of Science Degree in Investigative Psychology, a Bachelor
of Arts Degree in Social Sciences, and a Diploma in Municipal
Administration. He was a Research Fellow at the Centre for
Investigative Psychology at the University of Liverpool.
David is currently a Visiting Fellow
of the Scarman Centre for the Study of Public Order at The
University of Leicester. He is a consultant to large companies
advising on aspects of ethics, integrity, trust and financial
probity in corporate governance and management.
