Jack McGee, President, Justice Institute Of British Columbia, B.A., M.P.A., LLD

Jack was President, St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario (1994), and Dean, Science and Technology, George Brown College, Toronto (1992). Earlier, he was a carrier pilot in the Royal Canadian Navy, earned an Upper Deck Watchkeeping Certificate, flew from aircraft carriers with the United States Navy, commanded 412 (VIP) Squadron flying dignitaries and Royalty, was Director Air Studies, Command and Staff College (postgraduate-level) and commanded Canadian Forces Base, Comox, BC in the rank of Colonel. In 1999 he was invested as a Knight Templar in the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem.

Born ine Gulph, Ontario, he earned a BA (summa cum laude), St. Mary's University; an MPA (Hons), Auburn University; completed courses towards a Ph.D. in International Relations and Strategic Studies, York University; and was awarded a Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa), University of Windsor.

Academic awards include a Gold Medal, university scholarships, research award, and runner-up to the United States-Italy Douhet-Mitchell International Air Power Trophy at the Air War College, United States Air Force Air University. He has completed Executive Management courses in education at the University of Monterrey, Mexico, and at Harvard University.

Jack has served on a variety of civic, business and educational bodies representing charities, community, provincial, national and international interests. E.g., the Association of Canadian Community Colleges; BC College Presidents; Vice Chair, BC Aviation Council; Deputy Chair, Education Division, United Way Campaign Cabinet; Vancouver Board of Trade, and its Crime Task Force; Chair, Spirit of 2010 New Westminster Community Committee (for the Winter Olympic Games); and on the Advisory Board, Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Honorary Colonel of 442 Transport & Rescue Squadron, 19 Wing Comox.
