Diana Russler is the Director and Deputy United Nations Security Coordinator at the U.N. in New York

Diana Russler has held her current position since 1990. A native of Italy, Ms Russler began her career with the United Nations in 1978 as a Political Officer in the Department of Political Affairs, Trusteeship and Decolonization.

Before becoming the Deputy United Nations Security Coordinator, she held a number of progressively responsible positions within the Secretariat. Ms Russler's work with the United Nations has included postings with the Office of Human Resources Management, the Office of General Services and the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions.

 
Ms Russler has a Licence-es-Lettres from the University of Brazzaville, Congo and a Masters Degree in International Relations from New York University. She has two daughters aged 15 and 20.
