About us

The International Institute for Critical Incident Decision Making is a centre of research excellence which aims to evaluate and improve the nature and quality of decision making in critical incidents.

About us

INCSCID grew out of the professional experience of its two founding directors: Professor Jonathan Crego and Professor Laurence Alison. In March 2003 INCSCID received its initial 2-year funding through the Home Office’s Invest to Save initiative.

Our work is currently supported through the National Centre for Applied Learning Technologies (NCALT), The Metropolitan Police Service in partnership with Centrex and the Centre for Forensic and Family Psychology in the school of Psychology at the University of Birmingham.
